As it is a free of cost at all, google blogs are now, at a very large number. Added to this, google provides a better ways to design the blogger template with its own customisation styles. If you do not wish to follow any of these styles into your blog, you can design your own template and can upload it.
In order to upload a template, go to your blogger dashboard, switch to "Template", and select "Backup or Restore".
